Artist Statement

I've created animal art for as long as I can remember and am primarily self-taught but privileged to refine my skill in my late 30s through graphic arts classes. I have always loved and been inspired by the various things in nature from trees to animals it never got old. I don't have a preference when it comes to mediums and love to try them all on different types of canvas, paper, and other surfaces.I'm always glad to share any previously gained knowledge with my children and grandchildren some of which happen also to be artists. I believe all art comes the heart.

Art Title:	Magical Moment
Art Description:	This piece consists of a lone wolf in the beauty of winter where the snow is not too harsh and yellow grasses can still be seen poking up out of it. Behind the animal lies a forest in hibernation just waiting to reveal its leaves in the near spring. The wolf is walking it is on a mission, it has a destination in mind. It sees something off in the distance and while still walking stares off in that direction with its hard but gentle eyes. This thing that the wolf sees is none other than myself starting back at it. At that moment I realize this is something magical, something that very few people get to experience, the moment when human and nature almost become one. That moment so many years ago inspired this piece you are looking at now and I hope when you look at it you can experience a little piece of what I experienced starting into the eyes of that magnificent animal.
